Frequently Asked Questions

We start with your free consultation, which you can request by clicking our Contact Us form.  We’ll reach out to choose a date and time for your consult.  After the consult, we’ll choose your appointment length and frequency and then get them on the calendar!

Picking a trainer is serious business!  You have to like the person because you’ll be spending a fair bit of time together.  And it goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) that they should have the professional credentials to give you the peace of mind that they can keep you safe, be experts on proper form, and know how to design high-quality workouts.  We think that after a quick intro phone call and a longer in-person consultation, you’ll have a solid idea of whether we’re a good fit for one another.  You can also start with buying just one or two sessions instead of a larger package to make sure that you like the vibe.

Personal training is right for you if:

  • You know what to do, you just can’t make yourself do it.  You need the accountability of a set appointment.

  • You’ve been paying for a gym membership and not using it.  (Related reasons: You find the gym intimidating.  You don’t like other people.  You feel like you’re being looked at.  You don’t know what to do and don’t want to experiment in front of strangers.  We could go on.  But the bottom line is you’ve decided that traditional gyms just aren’t your jam.)

  • You have no idea what to do and want to save time and research by paying an expert to show up and boss you around (in a fun way!).

  • You’ve tried everything and nothing has worked.

  • You’re super busy and don’t have time to get to the gym.

  • You lack motivation.

We ask that our clients provide their own yoga mats if we’ll be working out on hard floors like wood or tile.  Otherwise, we bring absolutely everything we need for the workouts!  If you have some equipment at home, we can certainly incorporate it.

About the space of a yoga mat and room to stand next to it.  We have done workouts in all kinds of tight spaces, so don’t think you need to reorganize your whole house or have a dedicated fitness space to make this work.

It’s true that most of our clients are women, but we do take the occasional male client whose goals we feel we can help with.

One of the best parts of mobile training is getting to know our clients’ pets and families!  We love when dogs and cats come to visit when their people are on the ground.   Animals typically don’t provide too much trouble, but on the off chance they do, we’ll just ask if they can be in another room during our appointments.  Small children can be very distracting to our clients though, so it’s best if this time can be dedicated to just client and trainer.  It’s no big deal for people to be passing by the exercise area, or popping in for the occasional question, but we want this to be YOUR time to focus on YOU, so we hope that your people can get on board with that.

We offer 30-, 45-, and 60-minute appointments.  We’ll give you our recommendation for which length is best for you during our free consultation appointment.
