My Fitness Journey

It all started in 2005 when I was a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding. When the pictures came back, I had to face reality – the image I held of myself in my head did not remotely resemble what the rest of the world was seeing. I already knew I was the biggest bridesmaid by far, but seeing those pictures somehow really drove it home for me. Even then, I still wasn’t ready to take action.

A month or so later, my aunt dragged me to Weight Watchers because she wanted a buddy and I begrudgingly accompanied her. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I tried to make the most of it and follow the program. Lo and behold, the weight started coming off and I couldn’t wait to learn more and more about how to get healthy and stay that way.

This journey has lasted more than 15 years and there have been serious ups and downs, losses and gains, celebrations and heartaches along the way. What hasn’t changed though is how much I LOVE helping other people get healthy and active.

MEET THE TEAM!

Meet Malia!

After having my son during the pandemic, I felt like I had lost autonomy to my body. I decided then and there to go on my own fitness journey. Once fellow moms started asking for advice, I realized my passion was in helping moms, women, anyone who wanted to regain confidence in their body. I specialize in Women’s Fitness, pre- and postpartum, as well as Menopausal. I believe fitness should be fun and engaging so that when our session ends you say, “Wow, that was quick!”

Meet Shelby!

I decided to get my personal training certification in 2020, after my third season of wildland fire fighting. In fire you get paid to work out daily, and I wanted to learn how to properly build my strength and my endurance so that I could perform better at my job and help out the people on my crew.

I knew that fire was not a long-term career for me, but I loved leading and teaching people – which took me into the world of group fitness and personal training.

I love sharing healthy experiences and hard work, like a great workout, with other people. I strongly value being able to move and use my body for as long as I can, and I hope to help other people do the same!

MEET THE TEAM!

Meet Sasha!

Sasha was born in Colorado and has lived in Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and Canada. Her husband’s job brought her to Boise in 1996 until 2008 and brought her back to Boise in 2015. She enjoys running, weightlifting, swimming, hiking and road cycling. Her favorite childhood sports were volleyball and cheerleading. She has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Boise State University with a minor in Health. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM with specializations in Fitness Nutrition and Senior Fitness. Her training forte is custom programming based on the client’s needs and wants, along with fortifying a lasting relationship with her clients based on trust and compassion. In addition, she has trained several clients for distance running and spartan races. She has been working in the fitness industry since 2003 and has been personal training since 2016. Her mission as a trainer is to help people reach their health and fitness goals in a safe and sustainable manner with a focus on persistence not perfection, while cultivating a bond that goes beyond the gym.

Kaia FIT – Working Out Shouldn’t Suck!

I started my mobile personal training business in 2016 until 2018 when I decided to go big and purchase a women’s gym franchise called Kaia FIT.

I learned so much owning this gym, leading women into healthy lifestyles and certifying coaches.  It was some of the most fun I’ve ever had.  Managing and running the business was more than challenging, especially during 2020 when COVID caused so many to stay home.  I found the opportunity to reflect on my true passion and return to the dream I had been building before 2018. Working one on one with women, meeting them where they are and connecting with individuals is where my heart truly resides.

Reach your fitness goals with mobile training!
